Buy Back Your Time

This book was recommended by a dad friend. Turns out, it’s pretty, pretty good.

Whether you’re looking for some more ‘me time’, or more quality time with the fam, check it out.

The idea is simple: focus on tasks that truly matter and delegate the rest. Instead of hiring people just to grow your business, hire them to free up your personal calendar. Get it here.

Derek Redmond (+ his dad)

Occupation: Former Olympic Sprinter | Motivational Speaker

Cool Fact: Derek Redmond's story from the 1992 Barcelona Olympics is one of the most inspiring in sports history. During the 400m semi-final, he tore his hamstring and fell to the track in pain. Refusing to give up, Redmond got up and began hobbling towards the finish line. His father, Jim, broke through security to help his son, and together they completed the race, earning a standing ovation from the crowd.

Takeaway: Derek Redmond’s perseverance and the incredible support from his father show the true spirit of never giving up (in success or failure). It’s a powerful lesson for all dads about being there for your kids, no matter what challenges they face.

The next Jimi Hendrix?

Wanna teach your kid to wail on the guitar? Check out this classic Fender Stratocaster with a slight modification. The Strat has three strings, allowing smaller hands to reach and learn comfortably.

Plus - there's a companion learning app, chord flashcards, and video lessons included, helping to foster a love of music in kids as young as 6 years old.

What is V02 Max and Why Should You Care?

VO2 max is a measure of how well your body uses oxygen during exercise—think of it as your fitness level.

Why It Matters: Improving your VO2 max can significantly reduce your risk of death from all causes. According to Dr. Peter Attia, increasing your VO2 max from the bottom 25% to just below average cuts your risk by 50%. Boosting it to above-average slashes that risk by 70%!

Personal Note: I got my VO2 max tested last year after catching up with a cycling dad friend of mine and was pleasantly surprised. I came in at 60, which is supposedly pretty damn solid. Want to get your VO2 max tested? Head over to Google, and type in your hometown + VO2 max test. It’s worth the $150 bucks.

Learn more: Check out this quick video on why VO2 max is the greatest predictor of lifespan according to Dr. Attia.
