Dick Hoyt

Meet Dick Hoyt, the ultimate Badass Dad.

He’s run over 32 Boston Marathons and participated in over 1,100 athletic events, including Ironman Triathlons, all with his son Rick by his side.

But here’s the kicker—Rick has severe spastic quadriplegia and Cerebral Palsy, and he’s non-verbal, using a wheelchair that Dick pushes through every race.

When Rick was a baby, doctors told Dick and his wife, Judy, to put him in an institution, saying he’d never have any quality of life. But the Hoyts weren’t buying it. They knew Rick was sharp and just needed a way to communicate.

Thanks to some engineering students, Rick got a special computer that allowed him to express himself, eventually becoming the first non-speaking quadriplegic to graduate from Boston University.

When Rick was 15, he asked his dad if they could run a five-mile charity race. After the race, Rick told his dad that while they were running, he didn’t feel handicapped.

That one comment sparked a lifelong journey for Team Hoyt. And it’s not just Dick and Rick—Dick and Judy’s other sons, Rob and Russ, also inherited that same drive to excel, earning all-state honors in swimming and wrestling, and cheering on their dad and brother every step of the way.

Dango T01 Spec-Ops Tactical Wallet

Most metal wallets just hold your cards, but the Dango T01 Spec-Ops Tactical Wallet is built for more. This bad boy fits up to 12 cards, made from aerospace-grade aluminum and tough, water-resistant DTEX material—no leather here.

And if you’re feeling extra tactical, you can add a multi-tool with 14 functions, including a bottle opener and glass breaker.

A Must Listen

This podcast episode has me rethinking my whole health game.

Dr. Casey Means, MD—a Stanford-trained pro on metabolic health and author of "Good Energy"—sat down with Andrew Huberman to drop some serious knowledge.

Metabolic dysfunction is one of the biggest causes of chronic disease, obesity, and even cutting life short. If you’re interested in having more energy, a longer life, and—most importantly—sticking around longer for your kids, give this a listen.

How to Protect Your Social Security Number

Not sure if you heard, but 3 billion social security numbers were leaked a few weeks ago. While you can’t put a lock on your SSN, you can freeze your credit along with a few other recommendations here.
