Why to Stay a Season Ahead
Plus - The Towel Trick, How Exercise Kills These and more
Happy Monday. Hope y’all had a great weekend. Georgia barely held on, LSU with the W (questionable officiating), and my Pitt Panthers pulled off another comeback win.
We had a lot of replies on the social media and kids email last week. Here’s the consensus.
Here’s what we got today…

Why You Need to Stay a Season Ahead of Your Kids
This is a solid watch on staying a season ahead of our kiddos and building trust early by connecting ‘fun’ to real things.
José Andrés
José Andrés might not be a household name, but this chef and humanitarian is the real deal. As a dad to three daughters, Andrés balances running a restaurant empire and leading global relief efforts with being present for his family.
He once said, "I've always told my daughters, 'I don't care what you do in life. I care that you're good people.'" It's a simple but powerful message.
Andrés doesn't just talk the talk. When Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico, he brought his teenage daughter along to help with relief efforts. It's a powerful example of how we can involve our kids in meaningful work and teach them about being good humans.

How Excercise Can Literally Kill Cancer Cells
Saw this article on the Arnold Pump Club newsletter and had to share.
Research suggests that resistance training not only helps prevent cancer but also reduces mortality and reoccurrence of cancer.
Neurophysiologist Louisa Nicola breaks it down:
When you exercise, especially when you push yourself, your muscles release these things called myokines. Think of them as your body's personal bodyguards against inflammation and cancer.
What to do:
Crank up the intensity (yeah, those last reps are worth it)
Mix cardio and strength training (variety is the spice of life, and apparently, health)
For moderate workouts, go longer

The Bike Towel Trick
For those of you who haven’t taught your kiddo how to ride a bike, I can attest to the ‘towel trick’ working like a champ.
Just grab a beach towel and wrap it around your kid. Hold the ends while they pedal and slowly loosen the grip.
Before you know it, they’re off to the races.
See some internet dad use it here.

Pebble Beach
Last week, I ticked off a pretty epic experience: golfing at Pebble Beach.
The history, the views, the whole experience - unreal. For our golfing dads - if you get the chance, take it. I’m still reelin’ from the trip.
We booked our trip a year in advance through GolfBreaks.
