Nims Purja | Mountaineer and Father of Mountains

Nims Purja is a Nepalese mountaineer who holds world records for climbing the world’s 14 highest peaks in just seven months (unheard-of feat). He also served in the British Army and the special forces unit of the Royal Navy.

Despite his extreme achievements, Nims' role as a dad is what grounds him the most.

Sharpening Your Kitchen Game

A dull kitchen knife is about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. Not to mention, a sharp knife is a safe knife. You're more likely to slip with a dull blade than a sharp one.

Here's how to do it:

1. Get yourself a decent sharpening stone. None of that dollar store nonsense.

2. Soak that bad boy in water for about 10 minutes.

3. Hold your knife at a 20-degree angle. That's like a slice of pizza, if you're geometry-challenged.

4. Swipe the blade across the stone, heel to tip. Do this about 10 times on each side.

5. Finish with a few swipes on a honing steel to align the edge.

Pro tip: If you can slice a tomato without squishing it, you're in business.
