Happy Monday. Hope you had a great weekend. We’re expanding beyond the newsletter this week. See ‘Community Notes’ below. If you’ve used the referral code to share Dad Day, make sure your friends are opting in. Let’s go!

📕 DAD WISDOM

Your Circle of Influence > Your Circle of Interest

Heard something on a podcast recently that stuck with me: we spend way too much time thinking about our circle of interest—the news, the unfinished house projects, whether your kid's soccer coach knows what they're doing.

But your circle of influence? That’s where your energy actually makes a dent.

Showing up. Putting your phone down. Apologizing when you mess up. Asking how your kid’s day was—and actually listening.

In dad life, your influence isn’t measured in opinions—it’s measured in presence.

You can’t control everything going on in the world. But you’ve got a front-row seat to shape the world inside your own home. Start there.

RAD DAD

Keith Eshelman

Keith Eshelman is the kind of dad who doesn’t just go to national parks—he builds a brand to protect them.

After a few years leading the charge at TOMS, Keith co-founded Parks Project, a purpose-driven apparel company that reps America’s parks and gives back to them, too. (Fun fact: I worked with the Parks Project crew when I was running my travel company Have Fun Do Good and have been a fan of their mission ever since.)

To date, Parks Project has funded over 30 park conservancies doing real, on-the-ground work. We're talking trail restorations, youth education programs, habitat cleanups—the unsexy but essential stuff that keeps our public lands thriving.

Keith’s goal? Simple but awesome:

“I want to build this business so I can bring my kids to all the parks one day.”

A dad who blends mission, adventure, and legacy? That’s the kind of park ranger energy we can get behind.

DAD TOYS

Get Charged Up

My kids and I were watching a YouTube video of a guy running his entire outdoor kitchen off a Jackery power station—and now I’m fully in.

Camping, road-tripping, or just need backup power for a backyard movie night, this thing delivers with no noise. The one above is only 8 lbs, lighter than most newborns.

✅ 10-year battery life
✅ App-controlled
✅ Fire-resistant, impact-resistant, dad-resistant
✅ 52 safety features—because you know your kids are gonna press buttons

This might be the most useful “toy” we’ve featured.

The Blueprint for Getting (and Staying) Fit

Want to train for long-term health, not just hit a random PR? Here's the no-BS breakdown:

  1. Move easy, often.
30–60 minutes, 3+ days a week. Run, ruck, bike—anything you enjoy. Conversation pace. The goal? Consistency, not collapse.

  2. Lift heavy-ish things.
Twice a week, 30 minutes. Focus on compound moves—squats, pushups, lunges, etc. Use dumbbells, a vest, even a kid-filled backpack. Just progress over time.

  3. Once a week, go kinda hard.
Intervals. Hills. Sprints. Doesn’t matter what—just aim for a 7 or 8 out of 10. You’re not trying to puke, you’re trying to get stronger.

That’s 95% of what you need to feel good, live longer, and keep up with your kids.
